Even if you're working with a wedding planner or you're planning a simple wedding, there are likely still a lot of moving pieces left leading up to your big day. We've photographed more than 150 weddings in the past few years and we're happy to share everything we've learned along the way!
Wedding Advice
We’re big fans of engagement sessions for a few reasons. Not only do they allow you to get comfortable in front of the camera, but they also showcase your personalities in a more casual setting that is significant to the two of you.
Engagement sessions can occur anywhere from immediately following a proposal to just a few days before the wedding. We’ve found that there isn’t a “good” or “bad” time to take your photos. We usually plan sessions based on a particular “look” a couple has in mind, spring flowers, for example, or based on schedules.
Engagement Session
We check-in about two months before the wedding to start chatting about timeline specifics, special details, family formal shot lists, special traditions and anything else we should know about your big day.
While we normally don't send this questionnaire until closer to the wedding, please don't hesitate to let us know if you have questions during the planning process!
Wedding Day Prep
It's finally here! The day the two of you say "I Do" and dance the night away surrounded by your family and friends.
Just know we're excited to celebrate and capture your wedding day. It's going to be awesome.
The Big Day
You can expect your photos to be delivered via an online gallery within about three weeks of your wedding. At that time, we'll also send over details about preserving your images through prints and albums.
We hope the relationship doesn't end after we deliver your photographs. We want to hear about the adventures of married life. And if you decide to have kids, we'd love to document your growing family.

One of the best ways to make your wedding memories have a classy, elegant home is with our high-quality albums. We offer professionally designed albums that come in a variety of linen & leather colors. These aren't the same albums your parent's wedding photos came in. They're modern, lay perfectly flat, and look incredible on coffee tables.
Albums typically take between 4 to 6 weeks to complete and include two rounds of revision. This is the perfect ending to The Wedding Experience, and it's a keepsake that you will be showing your children and grandchildren one day!
ALBUMS
All of our sessions include a complimentary engagement session. We love getting to know you through an engagement session that helps you warm up to the camera so that you are ready to rock and roll on the wedding day! By the time the wedding day arrives, we feel more like friends, creating a safe and relaxed environment for photography!
Sessions also allow you to showcase your personalities in a more casual setting that is significant to the two of you (and even include pets!) While they’re great for save-the-dates, we’ve taken engagement photos anywhere from 18 months in advance to a few days before the wedding.
Engagement Sessions
Fantastic! The next step is a booking proposal. We will create an online proposal that will walk you through the package. When you're ready, you can save your date by signing the contract and paying your non-refundable $500 retainer online. The remaining balance will be due on or before the wedding.
We love your work and we’re ready to book! What’s the next step?
Galleries typically include anywhere between 400 and 800 photos. The exact amount varies from wedding to wedding. Your online gallery will come loaded with fully edited, high-resolution images you can print anywhere. You’re also welcome to share your wedding photos on Facebook or Instagram as long as you credit us.
How many photos are typically included and can we print the photos ourselves?
We are more than willing to travel for your engagement session or wedding day! We actually love it when our couples ask us to photograph them in a location that means something special to them! We typically add travel fees when traveling outside of the lower peninsula of Michigan. Fees vary depending on location so ask us for more details.
